‘Santosham param sukham’

FlowerNot much importance has been attached to satiating the desires in Dharma Shastras (ancient scriptures) of hindu scriptures; rather renouncing desires has been accorded far more importance, for satiation of desires in a way does the job of fuelling the fire hence the more we remain involved in satiating them, the more activated they become. Thus, the simple and universal principle of vedic culture is ‘Santosham param sukham’, meaning, satisfaction is the ultimate happiness, implying that a satisfied person remains satiated and in bliss too.
