Man-made, impure electric crematorium made of iron and the electric currents emanating are Chaitanyaheen (devoid of divine consciousness). That is why during an electric cremation, Rajo-Tamo vibrations are released from the body of a dead person and the atmosphere is polluted. For this reason, electric cremation does not allow the person the benefit of progressing and gaining Gati. The final rites must be done properly, as per the laid down rules and procedure, amidst chanting of Mantras, whereby the dead person gains Gati. Thus, the dead body must be burnt amidst the chanting of Mantras. – Tanuja Thakur
