The Uttar Pradesh government headed by Yogi Adityanath has made a shocking announcement on Monday regarding the recruitment of Urdu teachers in Lucknow.
The recruitment process of 4000 vacancies which was started in the governance of Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of UP, has now been cancelled. The announcement has been made by Additional Chief Secretary of Basic Education Department of Uttar Pradesh.
This recruitment process was started under Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board or Uttar Pradesh Basic Shiksha Parishad.
According to the report, the reason to take such a step was made due to the fact that the department has already enough Urdu teachers and recruitment was not required.
In 2016, the total posts for teachers announced in UP were 16,460, out of which 4000 posts were for Urdu teachers.
Akhilesh Yadav for Urdu teachers recruitment in UP
The recruitment for Urdu teachers was started on December 15, 2016, in the state for primary schools under the governance of Akhilesh Yadav.
The online application process was started from December 23, 2016, and the application was submitted till January 2017. The counselling date was announced in March 2017, but during this time, the government of the state changed after the elections.
Review petition against High Court order
On March 23, 2017, the Yogi government stopped the recruitment process and didn’t forward it for one year as per the report of Amar Ujala. Due to this, the candidates went to High Court. The High Court instructed the Basic Education Department to complete the recruitment process.
However, the Additional Chief Secretary of Basic Education Department, Prabhat Kumar, on Monday, said that there is a large number of Urdu teachers working in the primary schools which is why recruitment was not required.
The government will file a review petition against the decision of the High Court soon as per the report of Navbharat Times.
