Security forces on Tuesday busted a terrorist hideout and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition during the search operation in the Manowala forest in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. A team of Indian Army along with Army sniffer dogs and quadcopters and personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a search operation after receiving a specific input in the Manowala forest in Rajouri district and busted a terrorist hideout and seized huge cache of arms and ammunition.
The recovery included two AK-56 rifles, six pistols along with a magazine, under-barrel grenade launcher, radio set, satellite phone and a large quantity of assorted ammunition.
This comes a day after security forces eliminated two Lashkar terrorists who were later identified as Liyaqat from Harwan in Baramulla district’s Sopore and 18-year-old Furkaan from Langate in Kupwara district’s Handwara. On Saturday last week, a Lashkar terrorist was eliminated after a fierce encounter that took place in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Importantly, under Operation-All Out, a total of 134 terrorists belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Al Badr, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind have been eliminated in the first eight months of this year i.e from January 1 to August 31. While in the month of August, 25 terrorists were eliminated which is highest in a month this year.
