According to the woman, the accused was addicted to drinking. A year ago he had lost his one leg in one accident after which his father helped him to open a shop. He could not even manage the shop because of his alcohol addiction and suffered losses. He also used to come home drunk every other day and assault his wife.

As per the report, the accused came home drunk on Friday evening and started abusing his wife. He even pushed her to the ground and tried to strangulate her. Next morning he drew her out of the house after which she went to the police station accompanied by her elder sister.
