This is third such threat from Congress leaders to bureaucrats and government officials within a fortnight
Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal today sent out a veiled threat to the bureaucrats who are ‘showing loyalty to the PM’.
Sibal said, that officers should know that elections come and go, and if today they (Congress) are in the opposition, tomorrow they could be in the power. He added that Congress is keeping an eye on “officials who are over-enthusiastic” and trying to show their loyalty towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Then, as if to cover up the threat, he added that government officials should remember that the constitution is bigger than anything.
This is third such veiled threat from Congress leaders within a fortnight. Following the CBI raids on Haryana Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s residence in connection with irregularities in land allotments in Gurugram, Congress leader Anand Sharma had given similar veiled threat to government officials. “Officials must hear this. Governments do not have any permanency,” Sharma had said.
Last week, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had threatened government officials by saying that he would purge the government institutions of those associated with the RSS.
Congress leaders’ such threats to bureaucrats and government officials for carrying out their duty is shocking to say the least.
