Intolerance towards Hinduism! After climbing Adiyogi statue, Christian Missionary screamed “Neither Yoga, nor Yogi can liberate you from sins, only Jesus can”

May 28, 2019

Since years we all have seen how the self-proclaimed liberals and seculars tried to portray Hinduism in a negative shade. Even though Hinduism never harmed anyone, these hypocrites always resorted to spread hatred against the oldest religion.

Now a shocking incident of intolerance towards Hindus and Hinduism has taken place where a Christian evangelist climbed up to the Adiyogi statue in Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and screamed Neither Yoga, nor Yogi can liberate you from sins, only Jesus can”.

Adiyogi Shiva statue, which is located at the Isha Yoga complex is 34 metres tall and the construction work was completed in February 2017. Even though the statue was dedicated to Lord Shiva, it was meant to inspire the entire mankind.

Even Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev had said that the statue is for inspiring and promoting yoga. Speaking more about the name “Adiyogi”, he said that the name means “the first yogi”, because Shiva is known as the originator of yoga.

But it is shocking to see that the Christian evangelist used such a holy place to spread his ill intention. Such kind of incident has not happened for the first time in Tamil Nadu or other parts of the nation. Certain religious bodies have been regularly involved in attacking Hinduism and the organisations or leaders associated with it.

Months ago, Goa Priest Conceicao D’Silva made a cheap remark after the death of the former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar saying he was anti-minorities. Conceicao D’Silva had stated  that “People protested, held morchas and meetings but Parrikar did not pay heed. His pockets were filled. Therefore God gave him cancer”.

Even during the 2017 Gujarat Assembly polls, the Goa Bishop had urged its devotees to unite against the nationalistic forces. These acts are really dangerous to the secular fabric of the nation. Strong actions should be taken against the people who instigate and provoke people in the name of religion.
