Indian National returned home after six years, Meets MEA Sushma Swaraj

Indian National Hamid Ansari who get arrested by Pakistani Intelligence agencies, returned home after six years of imprisonment, meet Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sushma Swaraj today.

Indian national Hamid Ansari returned India via Wagah-Attari Border on Tuesday. He returned home, six years after he detained by Pakistani Intelligence agencies for entering country illegally to meet a girl, he befriended online.

Ansari gone missing after he was taken into custody by Pakistani agencies and local police in Kohat in 2012. Ansari was subsequently sentenced to three years’ imprisonment by military court of Pakistan in 2015 for possessing a fake Pakistani identity card.

Today, when Ansari meet Sushma Swaraj, the meeting is full of emotions, everybody is in tears and his mother is thankful to government for all the efforts and support. She said, “It was because of God’s grace that i got very good people who helped me through these years. The government of India was very supportive; so was the media on both sides of border. This couldn’t have been possible if not for the lawyers and activists in Pakistan who worrked on the case”.
