Hyderabad: Muslim man tortures his two wives after they deny consent for third marriage

The two wives of the man have lodged a complaint against him at the police station

A twenty-six-year-old woman living in Hyderabad’s Borabanda, who is married to Mohammed Khan for nearly four years, has accused her husband of torture after she refused him permission to marry for the third time, reported the New Indian Express.

According to the reports, the victim woman, who is his second wife has accused her husband of mistreating her after she refused Mohammad Khan her consent to marry for the third time. Khan has three children from his first marriage, the youngest one being just two weeks old.

Reportedly, the first wife Ayesha (name changed) said that Khan had told her that second wife cannot bear children.“He convinced me to allow him a second marriage by claiming that she would take care of our children,” Ayesha said. However, Khan has now expressed his desire to marry for the third time as the second wife is not being able to bear him any children.

Ayesha further added that Khan has been torturing them for giving consent to marry for the third time. At times, he assaults his second wife by hitting her with a leather belt and has also been threatening to push her off the building.

The wives lodged a complained against their husband at SR Nagar police station, where a general diary entry was made by the police. The family will be sent to Bharosa Centre for counselling, police said.
