Bapu wouldn’t have agreed to “Sabarmati ke Sant” song: Indresh Kumar

Aug 16, 2018

The famous song “De di hame azadi bina khadg bina dhal, Sabaramti ke Sant tune kar diya kamal” (दे दी हमें आज़ादी बिना खड्ग बिना ढाल, साबरमती के संत तूने कर दिया कमाल) is an insult to thousands of those who sacrificed their lives at the altar of our motherland during the freedom strugeele. This song was composed after the death of Mahatma Gandhi. Had Bapu been live then he would not have given his ascent to this song”, senior RSS Pracharak Indresh Kumar said here on Tuesday.

He said speaking at a program at Narayangarh on Tuesday (Aug 14) that the soldier standing at the border of our country is the guarantee of our freedom, education and employment. He is safeguarding our freedom today and those who do not honour them, cannot honour the country.

The song highlights the non-violent movement of Mahatma Gandhi and acclaims Gandhi as the only leader to have liberated this country with his non-violent movement. Indresh Kumar said that the song written in honour of Mahatma Gandhi was, in fact, an insult to those countless martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle and Bapu was well aware of this reality. So, had he been alive when this song was composed, he would have opposed this and wouldn’t have granted his permission for this song, Indresh Kumar said.

Indresh Kumar further said that 72 years ago another country called Pakistan was born out of India and this is rough (शैतान)country. The British presented the proposal for partition and not for independence. The leaders like Nehru and Jinnah signed the papers of partition and not of idependence. During that time over 3 crore families were uprooted, 10 to 20 lakh Hindus lost their lives, 6 lakhs were converted, and 4 lakh women sacrificed their lives to save their honour. 1782 temples, gurudwaras were demolished. Till his death Bapu never celebrated such an azadiwaving Tiranga in his hands, Indresh Kumar said.

Sounding caution for Pakistan Indresh Kumar advised the neighbour to mend its ways or else it would lose its very existence from the world map. Pakistan was not there before 1947 and it would not be in future on the world map, he added.

Indresh Kumar performed the foundation laying for Bharatmata Mandir at Yamakeshwar Teerth Husaini Narayangarh on Akhand Bharat Diwas. He was accompanied by Minister of State for Labour and employment Nayab Singh Saini, VHP Central Organizing Secretary Ras Bihari, Swami Trilokanand Giri, Swami Chhavi Ramdas and others.

Paying tributes to revolutionaries and martyrs Indresh Kumar said that we must always remember them and introduce them to the young generation. We have received this freedom at the cost of countless sacrifices. He said that without Bharatmata we have no existence at all.

Let us become worthy sons and daughters of Bharatmata and live with self-respect as a proud Indian, he said.

The Minister announced a donation of Rs 11 lakh for the temple of Bharatmata saying that this was a proud moment for the people of Narayangarh to have this grand temple of Bharatmata.

On this occasion, Goshala Manager Suman Gupta, SDM Virendra Singh Sangwan, BJP State Spokesman Dr Sanjay Sharma, BJP leaderds Jagmohan Lal Kumar, Rajesh Bataura, Ramesh Pal Nahauni, Ganchand Jain, and Sundar Lal, and others were present.
