3 terrorists who attacked Pearl Continental Hotel in Pakistan’s Gwadar killed

Three terrorists, who had stormed a five-star hotel in Pakistan’s port city Gwadar have been killed after hours-long gunfight. The armed men had breached the security of the heavily guarded Pearl Continental Hotel at around 4:50 pm (local time).

According to Balochistan government spokesperson Zahoor Baledi, most of the guests staying at the hotel, frequented by Chinese nationals, were evacuated before the gunfight began. Army and navy soldiers were engaged in a gunfight with the terrorists for several hours before the extremists were killed.

The operation concluded at around 08:15 pm (local time).

According to sources, the terrorists belonged to the banned outfit Baloch Liberation Army.

A report in Pakistani news site Dawn citing Pak military’s media wing ISPR said that a security guard who tried to stop terrorists from entering the hotel was shot dead.

There no reports of any other casualties in the incident.

According to Sarfraz Bugti, Balochistan-based senator, there has been no fatality from the attack on hotel in Gwadar.

The attack comes just weeks after 14 people, including 11 security personnel were killed by gunmen near Ormara in Gwadar.
