Importance of celibacy

Those men, who while treading the path of Dharma (righteousness), establish physical relations with their wife, merely for the sake of procreation and follow Brahmacharya (celibacy) at other times, and engage their sperms upwards through spiritual practice, such sattvik (spiritually evolved) householders (men) have been compared to Brahmcharis (celibates) in Dharmashaastras (scriptures); and such men possess the capability of creating a new universe through the sheer power of their resolve. God Shiva stays in perpetual continence; hence he creates a new universe and the dissolves the old ones every moment and by worshipping the Divine Shiva Linga (Shiva’s Phallus), several seekers have realised the highest state of self-realisation!

But today, all the energy of a majority of men gets wasted in gratification of desires. The society during present times does not realise the importance of Brahmacharya (celibacy) and the offsprings of such venereal men too are bound to be lustreless and Tamoguni (spiritually impure). Remember, that manhood lies not in the fall of semen, but in its preservation. Sexual intercourse merely for the production of offsprings has been referred to as Yadnya Karma (spiritual deed) when done under the institution of marriage.-Tanuja Thakur
