The important and requisite components for the shrāddha ritual are Darbha, Bhrungaraj leaf, Tulasi, black sesame, white rice, barley, honey, black gram, white fragrant flowers etc. Fruits like the Indian gooseberry (amla), pomegranate, musk melon (kharbuja) are specially used in the shrāddha ritual.
